The Board of Directors of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, The Voice of Mesa Business has endorsed my candidacy. This came after an interview of all the candidates with the government relations committee and the Chamber sponsored public candidate forum.
I am extremely grateful and proud to have received the endorsement from the men and women of United Mesa Firefighters Local 2260. Our public safety in Mesa is best in the nation, and I look forward to ensuring they have the tools, equipment, and training needs to continue serving our Mesa citizens.
I am very honored to have received the endorsement of the men and women of Mesa Lodge 9, Fraternal Order of Police. The FOP is one of the oldest and largest law enforcement organizations in the country.
I grew up in Mesa. My family arrived in 1963. I attended Mesa Public Schools, and am a proud Westwood Warrior.
I'm passionate about my City, and have served on and chaired many boards:
In 2019, I was named Mesa Man of the Year, a very humbling experience.
I'm honored to support Scouting, and serve as the Chartered Organization Representative for Mesa-based Troop and Pack 653, Grand Canyon Council, Boy Scouts of America. Yes, I'm a Scouter too!
My sweetheart Karen and I have been together for many years, and we have 5 adult children and 3 grandchildren between us.
Above all, I value Faith and Family.
I am a strong advocate of transparency in government, and believe that government should work for the people.
Transparency and good stewardship in the management of public money is not optional.
My priorities are:
Quality of Life, Public Safety and Fiscal Responsibility are more to me than campaign slogans. These are among the duties our elected officials are sworn to uphold. If I'm so fortunate to earn your trust and be elected to serve, I will uphold these as your Councilmember.
I am not a politician. I don't aspire to be one. I do aspire to serve the people of the community that has given my family and I so much.
I want to make certain that Mesa is a place where people can walk down the street, enjoy our great parks and move about the City without fear.
Our use of public money must be with the greatest of transparency and at the will of the people.
Our City Charter is the roadmap for how our elected officials should govern. It keeps the City in it's lane. I will follow that roadmap.
Most importantly, I will not forget who I work for and who I am accountable to: You, the citizens of District 1. So I ask for your support and your vote on or before November 5th.
Professionally, I have over 40 years' experience in business management and commercial credit management.
Today, I'm President & CEO of a regional trade association founded in 1883. We serve 1,000 members and customers in the western states focusing on business credit management services and professional education.
Prior to joining this firm in 1992, I served as Director of Credit for a regional lumber & building material supplier in Arizona
With a group of local investors, I participated in founding Gateway Bank in 2008 and remain a member of the Gateway Board of Directors.

In Washington, DC representing Mesa on a Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) economic development mission. I learned a great deal from leaders from throughout the Valley who are pictured here.
The Mesa City Council and Economic Development Director Bill Jabjiniak invited me to a Council meeting after we brought the IEDC Citizen Leadership Award home to Mesa.
With Mayor Giles and my Daughter at an East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) event honoring Mesa Police community involvement.
Accepting the International Economic Development Council 2021 Citizen Leadership Award in Nashville. It was only due to the learning opportunities I had volunteering with the Mesa Office of Economic Development and Director Bill Jabjiniak that I was qualified to be considered for this International recognition.
Humbled and honored to accept the 2019 Mesa Man of the Year award. This honor is a reflection of the many mentors and leaders I have had the privilege to know over the years.
With Mesa Fire & Medical Department Chief Mary Cameli, Mesa's 2019 Woman of the Year and Mayor Giles. I felt honored to share the stage with Mary, she's a truly remarkable woman.
With members of my Class 61, Mesa Citizens Police Academy. I developed a much higher level of respect for Mesa's Police Officers and the important work they do. Moreover, I graduated with my classmates with an even stronger desire to support our public safety professionals.
Groundbreaking for Gateway Bank. As a founding director of Gateway, I know the value a community bank brings to local businesses. Gateway CEO James Christensen has built a bank Mesa can be proud of. Plus, I always wanted to do the "hard hat and golden shovel" thing !
While serving as Visit Mesa Board Chair I had the privilege of helping tell the Mesa story. This is at the U.S. Travel Association IPW tradeshow in 2018. The gentleman on the right is a senior travel professional from Germany. The ladies impressed upon him the value of Mesa as a visitor destination.
Meet Karen. Here, we're enjoying dinner out.
If you're familiar with Cody Johnson's new song "The Painter" then you'll understand what I mean when I say that this lady is my Painter !
She and our families are the center of my world. Only after she agreed with my entering this race did I make the decision to run for the District 1 seat.
My daughters, my son and grandson. I am committed to making sure this little boy grows up in the same safe, welcoming and family friendly city that I was fortunate to.
Karen & I at the 2019 Mesa Citizen of the Year banquet. Without her support and partnership, I would not have been there. The award should have gone to her for putting up with me!
This is Karen's side of the family. There are 4 generations in this image ! Karen's mom, the lady in the front row center is 99 years young, and sharp as a tack.
This outstanding group of people have apparently decided to keep me around, and I am grateful.
Three generations of Adams men here, and the younger 2 are Mesa natives I'm pleased to say. I showed up at age 5, so some folks say that's close enough. I owe it to my son and grandson to do my part to serve this great community in any way I'm able.
